Any new home project is not something that is undertaken lightly, and given the investment of time, money and emotions, for many it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.  Getting the first steps right in terms of planning and design is crucial to ensure that your vision not only comes to life, but that the journey you're taken on to achieve that result is seamless, invigorating and inspiring.

Each project is unique in every way, and every client has their own list of must-haves.  As the designers of something so personal as your own home, Mote Design will discuss your project in detail with particular attention to the aspects that mean the most to you.  Your requirements coupled with our design expertise is the perfect recipe for a masterpiece that is 'uniquely yours.'

The dreaded but necessary 'budget.'  For most projects we recommend budgeting 3-5% of the total estimated build cost to complete the Architectural design phases of the project.  Once we know more about your project and what you require, we will provide a project-specific investment amount.

It is important to note that our fees do not include any consultants/council fees, as these vary a lot depending on the specifics of your project.  However, you're not alone when working with these secondary parties - we're the communication agent between yourself and the consultants, councils and builders, and can obtain estimates for the respective portions of your project as we progress.

Keeping track of progress is as important as keeping track of your budget.  The Mote experience entails a simplistic approach to invoicing so you can budget ahead without any surprises.

It's simple.  Once the design agreement has been signed and sealed, each phase of the design process will be given an expected time allowance, and then invoiced on completion.  If any given phase spans more than one month, a progress invoice will be sent at the end of the month.
